Joomla 1.0/1.5 is a CMS based program and is accessible online from any computer with an internet connection. This online software is not for beginners to website design, although there are very informative tutorials online to help those with an aptitude and desire to learn how to use Joomla.
- There are many benefits to using Joomla:
- An unlimited number of great templates, free or for purchase, that can be used for your site.
- You can edit your site from any online computer.
- The site maintenance and upkeep can be shared by more than one person at any time.

Sitebuilder is a most basic software for building a new site. Available from Siteground, it is easy to use and can be updated right online with little training to the user. If you just want a very basic site, then this type of design is for you. The major disadvantages to Sitebuilder are it's limitations and lack of flexibility.

- It is not necessary to have your hosting and domain within the same company, however it can simplify future maintenance.
- Domain name registration is your first step. Long, complicated names can frustrate your visitors. Keep it as simple as possible.
- And, you may be tempted by a "Free Domain!" offer, but keep in mind, registration is not free.
- On that note, I want to caution you before you register your domain with just any company. As stated, you can register with anyone, however, when you actually use your domain to work with a different hosting server, depending on the registrar, you may have technical problems. We have personally experienced this issue. It is highly recommended, but not required, to have your domain registered AND hosted at the same company to avoid conflicts between the two as well as simplifying maintenance for both.
